In 2022-2023, councils handled an estimated 300,000 end-of-life tyres — at a cost of $6.5 million each year to local governments.

Local government is keen to see a truly circular tyre industry which improves recovery rates, prevents illegal dumping, and seizes the opportunities of using crumb rubber at scale.
