Second chance for grants under NSW Fixing Local Roads Program

Round 2 of
the accelerated Fixing Local Roads program, funded by the Federal and NSW
governments, opened on Monday.

Projects that can start this financial year and be delivered within two years will be given funding priority, NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said.

In June, the
Federal Government committed $191 million to build on the NSW Government’s $500
million Fixing Local Roads program.

The first round of funding saw $243.6 million in grants for 253 shovel-ready projects in 84 Local Government Areas – and round 2 will see another $136.4 million injected into regional NSW.

Federal Minister
for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said
the commitment will ensure more local road projects are delivered to boost local
employment.

Round 2 applications can be made up until Friday, 4 December 2020.
