ALGA attends LGANT symposium in Katherine

ALGA attended the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT) May Symposium & Dinner in Katherine from 1 – 2 May 2025.

With a theme of Empowering Councils: Decision-Making for Growth, the event united LGANT members, including mayors, Presidents, elected members, council CEOs and senior officers from across the NT to connect, contribute ideas and explore strategies to strengthen community support.

The symposium provided the opportunity for NT councils and local leaders to gain insights from the Hon Steve Edgington MLA (pictured speaking above), the NT Minister for Housing, Local Government and Community Development.

A highlight of the event was a sunset gathering at Gorge View Bush Retreat with storytelling and didgeridoo by Manuel Pamkal-Dalabon.

A big thanks to host LGANT, Katherine Town Council for the warm ‘Welcome to the Dry’ on the Old Railway Bridge, and MC Ethan Woods-Alum.
