Submission on the draft public guidance for the Future Made in Australia Community Benefit Principles
The Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) has made a submission on the draft public guidance for the Future Made in Australia Community Benefit Principles.
Future Made in Australia is the Australian Government’s initiative to support emerging industries such as green hydrogen, green ammonia and more.
Companies will need to demonstrate how they will create a positive legacy and benefits for communities hosting them if they want to receive Australian Government assistance.
ALGA’s submission outlines that local governments must be recognised as a key partner in local economic development, and that benefits must be delivered with the financial and operational sustainability of councils in mind.
