Australian Government update on drought declarations
The Australian Government has reminded communities, and local governments, that it no longer makes drought declarations to trigger the delivery of drought support.
Instead, the Government said there are a range of national support measures always available to those who need it.
The Government acknowledges that dry conditions don’t hit everyone at the same time, and it provides farmers who are experiencing the impacts of drought with access to support when they need it.
