City of Victor Harbor CEO named as new LGPA national president

Victoria MacKirdy is replacing Queenslander Mark Crawley as the national president of Local Government Professionals Australia (LGPA).

Ms MacKirdy is CEO
of the City of Victor Harbour Council in South Australia, and has served as a national
director on the LGPA Board for five years.

She has over 27 years of experience in the local government sector and a background of advocacy and governance in organisations like Regional Arts Australia and Chiefs for Gender Equity South Australia.

“I am proud to be
taking on the role from my fellow director, Mark Crawley,” Ms MacKirdy said
this week, “and I thank him for a year of dedicated stewardship of this
organisation and his steadfast prioritising of our colleagues in local government
and our communities.”

She said that LGPA
