Submission to Productivity Commission’s Interim Report on clean energy and net zero
ALGA has made a submission to the Productivity Commission’s Interim Report on cheaper, clean energy and net zero.
The submission highlighted that investing in councils can strengthen community resilience, enable future industry and prosperous communities, and better protect natural and social systems. These are the areas that can help maintain the nation’s fiscal, social and environmental sustainability in an uncertain future.
ALGA urged the Government to ensure the final recommendations for this important Inquiry will take a holistic lens, suggesting the investments – as well as the no- and low-cost measures – to deliver exceptional return on investment for Australians through the opportunity of net zero.
